Miss Kylie Gava
Newman Gifted Education Coordinator
Personal message: I believe that all students should be provided with learning experiences that challenge and inspire them to strive for their own personal best. Every child is entitled to succeed and to feel a sense of satisfaction and pride in their own accomplishments. In order for this to occur teachers, parents and other stakeholders must work together as a team to support the needs of each individual student.
Statement of areas of responsibility: I am responsible for facilitating the Newman Selective Program at St Mary’s. This involves liaising with teachers, parents and students in order to identify, support and monitor the needs of gifted students within the St Mary’s community.
Professional experience: I have been a teacher at St Mary’s Georges Hall since 2001. Throughout this time my role as a teacher within the school has continually changed. First and foremost I am a dedicated classroom teacher. Over the years I have also held various leadership roles (including Coordinator of ICT, Numeracy and Gifted Education), and these roles have lead me to support and represent the St Mary’s community at a school and diocesan level.
